The Little Baboon

Grandma tells the story of how, while staying in the bush, she woke from an afternoon sleep and walked through to the kitchen to be confronted with a baboon that had forced open the slightly-ajar window and was perched comfortably on the breakfast bar enjoying the ripening tomatoes and other fruity snacks that had been provided so graciously to him. Shortly after he had digested both Grandma's scream and the last of our tomatoes, he fled through the same window and returned from whence he came.

Well, Mum reckons she had her own baboon experience this week. In her words:

While Molly was watching cartoons this morning I snuck back to bed for another 15 minutes rest, while I was laying there I could hear a bit of scratching around and noise in the kitchen... She had climbed up onto the kitchen bench and got stuck into a loaf of bread (I could hear her talking to herself saying "most most" , but I now realise it was "toast toast"), when I went into the kitchen bread was everywhere....!!! pieces scattered everywhere and little wholes & bites in nearly every slice, she's such a monkey.

It made me think about those naughty baboons in Sabie Park.
