I celebrated my 9 month birthday in Bali with Uncle Nick, Aunty Mois and some other new friends who I get to spend lots of quality time with.

Beautiful weather and lots of fun. I spent most of the time floating around in the pool and had my first swim in the sea.

New Milestones

Things are happening really fast and on my holiday in Bali I reached a few new milestones...

My first motorbike cruise: much to my mother's consternation, I was "abducted" by the friendly local staff at the resort who took me cruising down to the village on their motorbike, 3 of us in tow - typical Bali style.

My first doggy bite: I got really friendly with a little puppy called Ubbie. I sreamed and giggled with excitement when he licked my foot and I grabbed at his fur. He gave me a friendly nip on the foot to say goodbye.

Standing: I am now standing alone. Initially I pulled myself up on something then let go and balanced for 10 seconds or so before sitting down or grabbing hold again. But now I can push myself up off the ground and stand alone with no support.

Waving: This week also saw my first (intentional) waving. Now, if you're lucky enough, I'll wave back if you wave at me.

Jumping: If I get excited, like when Ubbie was playing with me, I jump up and down on the spot, uncontrollably - usually with a few little yelps of joy.

Hi-Tech Toys

Fluffy dogs and teddies are great and all that by I like my toys Hi-tech: remote controls, phones, keyboards, mice and cords are some of my favourites. While playing, I've managed to uncover all sorts of new functions on Dad's remote controls that not even he knew existed. Such as auto-off timer and channel lock.

Still no teeth

Little Crawler

Well I've been crawling for a couple of weeks now and I'm loving it. Mum and Dad have laid rubber jigsaw mats all over the lounge so I can practice my sprint-crawling and couch-climbing.

My first word: "Legal"

Yes, Dad reckons I've nailed my first official word and its not Mama, Dada or Baba but Legal. He says its unmistakable - I say Legal every time I get tired and have my dummy in before going to bed. I say it over and over again till I start to fall asleep:

Legal Legal Legal Legal Legal Legal Legal Legal - try it yourself.

I wonder if this points to a future career in law?

Pooltime Fun

I swim nearly every day with Mum and Dad and I really love it. We splash around and I float on my back and relax but my favourite is cruising around in my orange trainer seat. I can spend hours in this thing, or at least until my skin goes wrinkly at which point I tend to start freaking out.

Oh, did I mention that I moved into my new room all by myself this week? Yip, I'm big girl now and I need a full night's sleep without being disturbed by Mum's snoring!!

Crawling

Well, its been anticipated for a long time but this week I officially started crawling. Fist, just a few paces then by the end of the week I was crawling all over the place. Mum thinks I am a little rabbit because I like to climb up any vertical object I can find, the couch, my bumbo, the tv stand, my playgym, anything I can pull myself up on.

Mum and Dad have bought me rubber playmat squares which they've put against all of these objects for a soft landing if I need it.
